Springtime | Crochet-a-Long "Lite"

Goodness!
I anticipated getting to a post much sooner than today,
and for that, I apologize.

So here is my overdue post and idea:
Spring is coming and I am wondering if anyone else is
 feeling happy about that?
I suspect...yes!
It feels like a new beginning/fresh start
after a couple of years of difficult times.

What do you think about crocheting a spring project along with me?
I could sure use some company celebrating this new beginning
with fresh springtime colors, some therapeutic crochet time, and camaraderie (comradery.)

Here is my idea for crochet-a-long that will be referred to as
Crochet-a-Long "Lite" due to its non-traditional nature.

STEP 1
๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธ
Pick (possibly from your yarn stash) or procure
yarn colors that represent spring to you.

Here are my picks:
These come from my stash of Stylecraft Special DK and Scheepjes Colour Crafter,
but any yarn will work.
I'm using white yarn as a key player here,

along with
a few bright colors for little bits of contrast here and there.

I'm not sure that I am going to include green for leaves at this point,
as I almost always do, but this time...hmmmm...maybe not.
Oooooo... I might be rebelling against my own rules!

STEP 2
๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธ
Pick a "blossom" pillow or afghan/blanket pattern from the
Apple Blossom Dreams Shops:
(Receive a discount at Etsy - see below)

Receive 22% off the below listed "Blossom" patterns at Etsy by using the code SPRING22
(Since today is 2/22/22, the discount shall be 22%.)

(The discount is good until midnight on the Spring Equinox - March 20, 2022)

(Clicking on the pattern name will take you to the listing on Etsy.)

You may already have one of these patterns, if so, that's great!!!
(Thank you for your patronage!)

Blankets/afghans can be made as pillows
and
pillows as blankets/afghans
with a few adjustments to the pattern.

My choice is the "Blush Blossom Baby Blanket" as a bed runner.
A few blossoms have already been made.
(Pictured in the first photo of this post with
the apple blossom wreath; white is forthcoming.)

STEP 3
๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธ
Start crocheting with the colors you have chosen,
and
if you would like, please share your progess via Facebook or Instagram.

I will share my progress, as well, here on this blog, Facebook and Instagram.

  1. A lovely idea, Astri. I would rather like making a blossom wreath as I am currently doing two blankets for family right now. I suppose that I could just make the flowers asnd see where that leads me!

    1. Hi Sandra! It's always so good to see you comment here. You know, the project really doesn't have to be a blanket or an afghan I should have included that information in the post. It can be anything that you want to make and I think a wreath would be lovely, especially for spring. I bet you have most of the patterns I have listed there. Thank you for your interest, friendship; and patronage through the years! ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿƒ♥️

  2. What a lovely idea Astri. I might just take a look at your patterns and find myself a lovely pillow pattern. It's a great idea :-).
    Have a lovely day.

    Sweet greetings,
