While away from home, a makeshift blocking board with graph paper below parchment paper,
has been crafted to block the snowflakes that were made with the leftover yarn
that accompanied me for the last month.

Wishing you time for your favorite pastime!

Macaroon Blossom Scarf | Based on Blanket Pattern

 Hello!
With all the changes made to blogging in the last few years,
I'm not sure there are a lot of followers on this site or not.
(Apple Blossom Dreams has not gone away, but you can find most activity on Instagram.)
so...
I thought it might be fun to post about my latest creation,
just in case there is a following here.
Nevertheless, I am still grateful for my followers no matter where they are following along or how many there are.
Thank you!!!!

This scarf was based on the Macaroon Blossom Blanket pattern
and is modeled by my lovely daughter!

I have been wearing the scarf out and about and
I am pleasantly surprised at the response.
One lady at a restaurant said,
"If that scarf is for sale I will purchase it from you, right now."
At first, I thought folks were smiling at me, but once I examined the eye contact a bit closer,
I came to realize they were smiling at the scarf!
Haha, I would have never imagined, I was just trying to stay warm.

The Macaroon Blossom Blanket pattern is available in English by
clicking on the following Apple Blossom Dreams shops:

The pictured scarf is crocheted with my leftover stash of
Scheepjes Stone Washed Yarn.
Tourmaline, Moonstone, Lilac Quartz and Peridot for the blossoms and leaves
but there are many colors from my stash for the circles (I placed them in the rainbow order).
Black Onyx for the joining squares and Black Onyx and Moonstone for the border.

Thank you for stopping by and as always

Warmly,

Astri Elisabeth

Macaroon Blossom Afghan | Softer Version | Finished

After many hours of fussing with the details,
I present a softer version of the Macaroon Blossom Afghan:

🌸🍃🌸🍃🌸

Springtime fun!

Original Pattern: Macaroon Blossom Afghan
Designer: Astri Elisabeth
Yarn: Scheepjes Stone Washed

Find the original pattern in the original colors (not these) by clicking on any of the following
Apple Blossom Dreams shops:

I'm changing the colors up a bit.

Two shades of the same color family for the blossom and the circle e.g., Rose Quartz with Tourmaline.
I'm using New Jade for the leaves and last row of the border because it kind of looks like leaves, as well.

New Jade is a softer green than the original pattern.
Pink Quartzite for the stamen and the leaf squares and much of the border.

Please note that Pink Quartzite and Moonstone are interchangeable IMHO.

The Kit for the original Blanket is available at Jimmy Beans Wool.
They also carry individual skeins so you can create your own color scheme!
and here's to you, my springtime crochet friends!

Warmly,

Astri Elisabeth

Blossom - Circle - Square | Crochet Pattern | A Traveling Stash Buster

 Looking for a Stash Buster
that is easily portable for upcoming travel?

How about the Blossom-Circle-Square?
The pattern for this easily transportable project is available by
clicking on the following Apple Blossom Dreams shops:

Any yarn can be used; however, the pictured afghan is crocheted with
Scheepjes Colour Crafter and/or Stylecraft Special DK.

My blanket is long (8 x 20 squares) as I wanted it to cover
the length of a built-in bed;
however, the beauty of this project is that you can grab
a few small balls of leftover yarn from other projects
and it makes a great traveling companion
as it does not take up a lot of space in the car or the overhead bin!
Then upon return join the squares at home.

Warmly,

Astri

Blossom - Circle - Square Afghan | Crochet Pattern | Published!

The Blossom-Circle-Square Afghan Crochet Pattern
has been published!
This blanket includes over 40 colors from my stash!
There are a lot of colors that this photo does not reflect,
but the beauty of so many colors is that you can arrange the blanket if you so desire,
to show the colors you want for your mood or color theme.
This blanket was staged with the dark blue showing to coordinate with the sofa.

So gather up your stash and crochet some love to wrap around yourself...
... or a loved one.
This is one of our loved ones.
We refer to her as Little Bug; she's the youngest and the littlest.

You can find the pattern by clicking on the following
Apple Blossom Dreams Shops:

Any yarn can be used; however, the pictured afghan is crocheted with
Scheepjes Colour Crafter and/or Stylecraft Special DK.

My blanket is very long (8 x 20 squares) as I wanted it to cover
the length of this built-in bed:
It looks bumpy because there is a down blanket underneath it.
At all bumpy costs, we must keep warm and cozy, right?

Here it is in progress without out the bumps:

Happy, happy, happy, pattern release and
and happy, happy

Warmly,

Astri
