Isolation Blossom Blanket CAL (Crochet-A-Long) | Final Week 6 - Border | Supporting COVID-19 Relief

The Isolation Blossom Crochet-A-Long (CAL)
supporting COVID-19 Week 6 Pattern - (Border) has been sent out to the participants.

This week we are crocheting a lacey border around our blankets:

Here are the borders for the blankets I made while writing and testing the pattern:
(I need a lot of tests, apparently. )
😉

The borders are slightly different on each one, dependent on how much yarn was left.
Winter                    Spring                     Summer
(Autumn is the one I am working on for this CAL.)

Four Seasons...because that's how long it took me to pull this all together. 😉
(Not complaining...probably just bragging.)

My completed "Autumn Isolation Blanket " will be posted on Saturday, May 2, 2020
and
please share photos of your blanket to the Isolation Blossom Facebook Group
found by clicking here.
I would love to see them!

Towel Topper | Crochet Pattern | Out for Testing

Thank you all for your interest!
I have received all the testers that I need for this particular pattern but stay tuned because there are more coming!

There are so many unexpected silver linings to staying home,
but one that has topped my list is the ability to
revisit, refresh, remix, and retest patterns that I wrote several years ago,
and for that, I am grateful.

I'm looking for a few testers to test my revision of this simple
Towel Topper Pattern with a Rose Embellishment.

The pattern includes a couple of variations:
Only one test is needed with a review of the variations.

If you are interested in testing this pattern, then please send me an email at
astri.bowlin@gmail.com

I am very grateful for a set of "new eyes."
I'm seeking someone that can look for ease in understanding and crocheting the project,
as well as, spelling/grammar/punctuation and technical errors.
Photos (with permission to use them) upon completion are optional but would be helpful.

Testers receive any pattern of choice from the Apple Blossom Dreams Etsy shop.

The test is due by May 5, 2020.

Most any cotton yarn works:
The one on the left was crocheted with fingering weight cotton yarn (Scheepjes Catona).
The one on the right was crocheted with worsted weight cotton yarn (Scheepjes Cahlista).

You can find the original pattern for the Towel Topper with my revisions
by clicking on the following link or photo:

Sources to purchase the aforementioned yarn can be found by clicking here, from my friend's site.

and as always, wishing you lots of

Isolation Blossom Blanket CAL (Crochet-A-Long) | Week 5 - Joining Pieces | Supporting COVID-19 Relief

The Isolation Blossom Crochet-A-Long (CAL)
supporting COVID-19 Week 5 Pattern - (Joining Pieces) has been sent out to the participants.

This week we are joining all the pieces we have crocheted over the past month.:

Don't worry if you are behind, I will be around for support after
April 30, 2020 when the last week's pattern is released.

These are the pieces I've laid out to join
for the blanket I am crocheting along with you:
The edges curl up but once they are joined they will lay flat.
I wanted a larger blanket for the sofa in our living room so I made:
32 blossom squares instead of 24 and
45 plain granny squares instead of 25 and
24 granny triangles instead of 22
This threw off the placement of the pieces on the two short ends;
hence, the need to create smaller triangles (aka 1/4 squares) on each corner.

And now they begin to become one:

La Vie en Rose Afghan | Crochet Pattern | Out for Testing

I found myself a little ahead on the Isolation Blossom CAL
so I decided to revisit, refresh, remix, and retest another pattern.
(So much time...so much yarn...)

This one is called the La Vie en Rose Afghan,
and it is out for the testing of the test of my revisions.
(So much testing...)
It looks like a pretty big project, huh?
But the testers only need to make a small test that includes 9 squares (3 x 3) with the border.

They can make something like this...
crocheted in cotton it can be a pretty dishcloth or washcloth:
The squares are small (two rounds) join-as-you-go granny squares.

You can find the original pattern for the afghan with my revisions by clicking on the following links:

This version is made with Stylecraft Special DK and Scheepjes Colour Crafter.
Sources to purchase this yarn can be found by clicking here from my friend's site.

and as always, wishing you lots of
going on.

Warmly,

Astri
