Getting back to crocheting after a long hiatus is so much fun!

Crocheting is one of my happy places, for sure.

given to me on my birthday by my dear friend Sue at Felted Button,

she has patterns in there as well.

Thank you, Sue!

The pattern was adjusted according to the size of the ball via hook size,

yarn weight and the number of rows.

The yarn is Scheepjes cotton: Cahlista and Catona,

they can be purchased via links on the Felted Button blog.

Crocheted Egg Gathering Apron

Occasionally the joy of making the perfect gift for someone comes to fruition,

and it is so exciting!

That was the case with this gift for my adorable D-I-L,

who gathers eggs from their chickens every morning.

An Egg Gathering Apron!

 

She has a hippie/bohemian/free-spirit style so every effort was made to match the yarn with her style.

That's where the fun began...

You see my dear friend Sue at Felted Button started me with this fun project by

 generously offering yarn from her leftover Scheepjes projects, as pictured here:

 What's more fun than scrap-stash-busting?

Scrap-stash-busting someone else's stash, of course!!!

Especially when it comes from the likes of Sue at Felted Button. 

Oh happy day!

Yarn particulars:

Secret Garden, Spirit, and lots of little Stone Washed and River Washed scraps.

(Yes, there was a lot of weaving in of the ends, but that's OK.)

Gosh, gotta' love a friend like that!

(She's easy to love anyway, however. )

Pattern particulars:

I combined these beautiful stash-scraps with a pattern from 

Heart, Hook, and Home found here on Ravelry or here on Etsy.

It was shortened a bit and a ruffle added to the bottom.

I can't hardly wait until Christmas to gift this!!!

Rampenisse Crocheted Hat Pattern

You know that you are really back in the swing of things when

you can actually produce a pattern again! 

(OK, well maybe a month late, but nevertheless at least before Christmas.)

With resounding joy, I present the

Rampenisse Hat:

 The NVO is a good sport huh?

There are two options for this hat:

1- With eye-slips and bulbous nose

2- Or turned around above the eyes without the nose.

I even made a blue one for me, Yay!

I don't like posting selfies, but let me tell you that with the help of Snapchat, 

a younger and thinner me can be produced.  LOL!!!

Poor NVO, he didn't get Snapchat filters...but he looks good anyway!

Uh oh, Rampenisse is at it again!!!

Cathy's Granny Rose of Pinks, Reds, and Purples

I must be manifesting something,

as yesterday I received photos of another gorgeous granny rose afghan!

Cathy has been following Apple Blossom Dreams for a while, in fact, she started 

the Granny Rose CAL many years ago.

She picked it back up again and finished this beauty last summer!

WOW, what a stupendous finish!!!

She certainly did the pattern justice!

Cathy used her scraps of red, lavender, and pink for the roses and different green for the leaves.

The only yarn she purchased was the cream.

I love this stashbuster brought together with that gorgeous creamy color.

Tina's Dark Red Granny Rose Afghan

I took a long break from crocheting this year...

selling our home in Utah

and remodeling and moving to our home in Wyoming. 

Wow, It's been a whirlwind!

That phase is finally over and we are officially retired. 

Yay!!!

Time to breathe.

I've been thinking about getting back to the blog a lot lately. 

I needed something to motivate me to do so...and nothing motivates me more than a 

Granny Rose Project.

And here's the perfect one:

 and were just the motivation I needed to write a blog post:

What a lovely afghan!

I love the dark red roses. 

This is what I had in mind when I first wrote the pattern

but never got around to making one with this color theme. 

I am so happy that Tina did it!

Scandinavian Fabric Crocheted Pillow

Here's a pillow for our 

Scandinavian Farmhouse:

I generally stay away from brown...but this fabric...I could not resist.

Our drapes are sewn with this fabric.

Back to the pillow... 

It has tassels:

 First time I've ever made tassels. :-)

So fun!

It's a total of 6 (3 each side) 3D Granny Square Motifs.

Pattern found here.

Then it was widened with 3 dc rows on the top and bottom

of each side, then the sides were joined with sc.

A three button closure.

(Scandinavian button to boot!)

It sits on the rocking chair that once belonged to the NVO's grandmother.

 That came to us all the way from a Ranch in Estancia, New Mexico.

  And of course, there must be a friend for the pillow;

a fabric pillow

with a brown crocheted edge in shells:

Periwinkle Pillow

Periwinkle is my favorite color!

So I made this springtime pillow in celebration of that color:

It's a total of 16 (8 each side) 3D Granny Square Motifs.

  I added a double ruffled border/edge for

an extra kick!

Border pattern is a variation of 

 "The La Vie En Rose" border pattern, found here, 

but it's done on both sides.

The first border was crocheted after the two pieces were crocheted together,

the the second border was crocheted to the bottom of the first border.

It has a two button enclosure:
