Crocheted Baubles

Getting back to crocheting after a long hiatus is so much fun!
Crocheting is one of my happy places, for sure.

Which leads to these happy creations:
Crocheted Baubles in Red, White, and Blue!
I love those colors together...
Representing the two flags of the countries I love;
The USA and Norway!

The pattern for the baubles came from this book:

Boho Crochet: 30 Hip and Happy Projects
by Martingale
given to me on my birthday by my dear friend Sue at Felted Button,
she has patterns in there as well.
Thank you, Sue!

The pattern was adjusted according to the size of the ball via hook size,
yarn weight and the number of rows.
The yarn is Scheepjes cotton: Cahlista and Catona,
they can be purchased via links on the Felted Button blog.

I hope this season finds you crocheting, as well!

Warmly,

Astri

Periwinkle Pillow

Periwinkle is my favorite color!

So I made this springtime pillow in celebration of that color:

This is the front:

This is the back:

It's a total of 16 (8 each side) 3D Granny Square Motifs.
Pattern found here.

  I added a double ruffled border/edge for
an extra kick!
Border pattern is a variation of
"The La Vie En Rose" border pattern, found here
but it's done on both sides.
The first border was crocheted after the two pieces were crocheted together,
the the second border was crocheted to the bottom of the first border.

It has a two button enclosure:

Happy Spring!

Mermaid Art Blanket - Half Done

I thought I was done with the "Mermaid Art Afghan"
until I realized I need to make it twice as big for a bedspread.
But, anywho...here's "half done"...
formerly know as "all done". 😉
See...it fits only half way up the bed:
and that's fine for an afghan but I would like a bedspread.

(This is the pretty mermaid art from which this afghan was inspired.)

No ends to weave in as they become part of the fringe.
Whew!

I started with the blue tones and ended with orange tones.
Now I will continue with orange and eventually end in blue.
So both ends will be blue - which i like best anyway!
(Must order more yarn.)

I'm using the Puffy NOLA Sunset Afghan Pattern:

Pattern found by clicking here.

Except I'm starting with 200 stitches instead of 182 stitches,
and of course randomly changing to the colors in the
"Mermaid Art".

Thank for tuning in and as always,

Starting a Mermaid Art Afghan

Now for something completely different for the master bedroom in the "City House",
an afghan to coordinate with the mermaid art:
Isn't she pretty and colorful?
I'll use these colors:
Lemon
Citron
Sunshine
Saffron
Tomato
Turquoise
Aster
Lapis
Royal
Midnight
In addition to similar colors from the stash.
💙💛💚💙💛

Here's a start:

So far OK:
I'm going for a water/bubbles/seaweed look.

A lot of fun!

I'll keep you updated and in the mean time,
