Granny Rose for Granny Baby

It never ceases to amaze and warm me when
a fellow crocheter creates a work of art
and shares it with me to share with you.
This afghan was created by a patron of my Granny Rose pattern for
a granddaughter whose arrival is any day now.
Something very special for a lucky little one to cherish for years to come.

And come to find out, whilst I thought I was communicating with someone
overseas, this wonderful lady resides within the same valley where I live.
Additionally, her spouse worked with the NVO until 2014!

It's almost as if we were connected with an invisible strand of yarn.
I wonder if there times we were crocheting roses at the same time.
I like to think so.

Thank you "S" for sharing this delightful gift,

and

Welcome Little One!

Flower Tags for Yarn Roses

I finished making a rose of every Stylecraft Special DK yarn...

and look what I sewed to the back of each one:

Cardstock Flower Tags!
Can you even stand it?

Looks a little like a big button huh?

Now, if I'm wondering what color these are...
I simply flip them over.

These make for gobs of fun combo color time...
and you know that's what's coming next!

(Rose made in-the-round pattern can be purchased here.)

Playing with Yarn Roses

What could be more fun than playing with yarn
 as in the previous post?

Well, IMHO, the answer is:
Playing with yarn roses!!!

I had made a mess of my Stylecraft Special DK yarn,
not knowing which color was which in order to order more.

To organize the yarn and simplify color combination work,
I decided to make a rose of every color!
Fun, huh?

Unfortunately, poor "Petrol" did not make it to the original group photo as "Petrol"
was found between the chair cushion after all the other roses
 were photographed and put away.
So "Petrol' has earned its own spot in an effort to repair the relationship. ;-)
I'm sorry "Petrol".
(You're buddy "Teal" was there though.)

I love Stylecraft Special DK yarn - it's price point is just perfect for afghans.
And the colors are lovely and seem to be endless....

But this is only the first phase of the yarn roses with names.
There's a second phase that will come out soon.
But, first I will post about different color combos during the next week.

I'm having so much fun with these I can hardly stand it!

You can purchase this "Rose Made in Round" pattern
at my Etsy shop by clicking here.

As always,
HAPPY CROCHETING!
