Chocolate Cake Mix Donuts

Okay, one last treat before the lean protein and vegetable fun begins:

 Very easy:
Stir 2 eggs, 2/3 c. buttermilk, and 2 1/2 T. soft butter in a devils food cake mix for about a minute.
Then pipe into a lightly greased donut pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 5-6 minutes, until toothpicks comes out clean.
Immediately pop out of pan and enjoy while warm
or wait a bit and drizzle with powdered sugar mixed with a little cream....

And thank you all for all the wonderful comments on my last few posts.
I read them all and smile. :-)

  4. Hello Astri, I absolute love those dounuts.. The heart pan is fantastic, I will have a look for one.. Are the buttermilk and butter in addition to the regular cake ingredients?? or is that part of the recipe on the box?? Hugs Judy

    1. Hi Judy - the ingredients listed are the only ones added - ignore box directions. :-) (add 2 eggs too)

  5. I did wonder where the paleo had gone.... (sorry to bring that up!)

These look wonderful! If cavemen had had access to Duncan Hines Devil's Food, I think they would have eaten it too. :D

  6. They look so good Astri and sorry but it's the wrong time of year to be thinking about protein and veggies, unless one wishes to loose a few pounds before the festive season in order to enjoy it without a guilty conscience of course. :)
