Seemingly Innocent

I have a confession to make:
 This is our living room.
It looks innocent doesn't it?
Especially the ottoman, eh?
It looks like it has been visited by enough yarn, right?
 Still looks innocent, huh?
 More innocent than ever,

but wait....

What's that under that ottoman top?
Uh, oh - something not so innocent is peering from below.

Oh no, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa (that's a screaming noise)
someone is not innocent at all!
Two layers of Stylecraft Special DK yarn!
This is the stuff a budget crocheter's dreams are made of.
Purchased here from Deramore's @ 2.89 USD per skein.
Obsession on a budget. :-)
So much purchased that there were no shipping costs to the USA.
Oh and the colors, ooooooooooo, so pretty, but that will be for another post.
As soon as the intended project is finished, the remnants will be stash and then...
....oh.....just think about the stash busting possibilities!

Guilty as charged!
(Shhhhhhh...The NVO doesn't know about this secret compartment.)

  1. You still have a little room left Astri - I think you need to call Deramore's back and get some more. :)

    1. I agree crocheting is for cooler weather...especially a blanket. Blankets are good in the winter to work on and keep the lap warm at the same time.

Your sewing projects are just simply lovely!

    1. Hello Linda - the empty space is for some crochet accouterments; however, I'm thinking that it does need more yarn in there and the accouterments could be stashed somewhere else. ;-) You are so right - this is the softest nicest yarn to work with.

Thanks for the compliment - luckily the photo was taken at the beginning of the week - first day after cleaning day. I should take a photo at the end of the week...unrecognizable. ;-)

    1. Thank you Elisabeth. Ah yes, the appearance of innocence. What is more innocent than something related to crocheting? It would be much less innocent if the ottoman werefull of chocolate truffles or butter caramels, right? I suppose the only thing more innocent than yarn is vegetables. Hmmmmmm...imagine that - a veggie stash. No one would dare um I mean want go near...

  16. Your living room is really pretty - just my style. I have a cream ottoman full of Stylecraft Special DK too!! (plus another four tubs in the top of my wardrobe) I get mine online from a shop called Masons for £1.60 per 100g and again even including the postage its a fantastic price. (I did check out how much they charge for US but there is no top limit and so its pricey for international delivery). Lily. xxx

    1. That's awesome Lily. I love that your cram ottoman is full too. What a great place for the stash! I'll have to check out the conversion on the yarn price. The free shipping is what enticed me on the other site.

      Thanks you for dropping by!

  18. Oh, did you make me laugh with that big reveal! Yours is so well hidden!!! Mine's tucked away similarly in the cardboard box in which it came. I quit bothering attempting to hide anything; my husband lovingly supports my obsessions, and by now, if visitors don't know, well, I don't think there are any visitors who don't know!

    Gorgeous colors!

    1. Haha - Yeah the NVO in all actuality is really good too - he even purchases crochet related gifts for me...like the lighted crochet hooks, so that I can come to bed and crochet while he snoozes.

Always nice to hear from my snowflake making blogging buddy. :-)

  25. Astri,
Love your stash of stylecraft! I've always wondered what it feels like, do you know of an equivalent US yarn? By the way, the price is now $2.31 and the medium 10 pack is 18.32, so tempting to place an order at those prices.
