Dollar Store Garden - Day 56 (Bean Stalk too!)

Here's the latest and greatest on the Dollar Store Bachelor's Buttons:
I think they are actually going to turn into flowers...
I hope they survive the 100 degrees that are in our forecast here for the next little while.
Yay!
Summer's here!

This one even has a little flower bud on it:
Makes me so happy!

And the bean stalk grew this week for the first time:
With the pending heat and lots of water,
I'm in hopes that this one will grow at least an inch a day.
Is it possible?
They tell me it's possible.

How does your garden grow?

  2. Hi Astri what gorgeous flowers, the colours are just divine. Can't believe the heat you are having to cope with - we are in our summer time and it is still quite chilly here. Have a really wonderful day.
    Lots of love

    1. It's pretty hot, but since we basically live in the desert it's pretty dry so it's tolerable. Oh and the mornings and evenings are incredible. I hope it warms up for you. :-)

  3. Hi Astri - my garden is not doing well. I have lost all my potted herbs and they are usually hardy little fellows but we did have a prolonged cold snap (well cold by UK standards) and so I am thinking it was just too much for them. Hoping to move somewhere more fertile soon, as I have done battle for 16 yrs with my garden and almost everything dies. Makes you wonder what on earth the developer buried under the soil doesn't it! 6. Hey Lizzie. Looks great! My garden is so thirsty here too. It will be triple digits for the next several days. I harvested the broccoli which was taking up so much space, and really does better in cooler weather!
I have moved my darling pillows all over, finding the perfect spot for them. I believe I have found it! I have a swing out under the canopy of the big avocado trees where my chickens coop is. I sit out there every afternoon for a rest and cold iced tea. I love to have a pillow behind the small of my back, and the cushions are red and blue. I love the pillows out there. And I think of my blogging friend each time I sit!!

  9. Very pretty Dollar Store flowers! Wishing you luck with the bean stalk. Were in store for lots of that heat here as well, I'm hoping my cucumber plants start spreading and flowering before they fry in that grueling sun!
