Stash-Buster #25 - His and Hers

In the past few years, the search for tissue box covers for our nightstands has been "on".
I never found anything that tickled my fancy, or my budget,
so I made my own with yarn from the stash:
This was an exceptionally gentle project on the pocketbook,
and there isn't a lot that makes me happier than an "easy on the pocketbook" project.
The piggy banks are also "His" and "Hers".
We collect our change for a year and then go to one fancy dinner per year on the pigs!
The NVO's bank is the bigger one because he has deeper pockets and more of them. ;-)

    1. Thanks Lisa. This way we do not mix up which one belongs to who. hehe

  2. I can't decide which color scheme I like the best - I like both of them. I started a baby blankie last night with the red, white & aqua color scheme, but the yarns are a little different - so it's off to AC Moore to get the same brand white & aqua today. :)

  3. Covers are beautiful but I love the idea of a night out on the pigs! Might try that one as our loose change just tends to fizzle away x Jane

  5. You won't believe this Astri but I was looking at my bargain box of tissues that sits in my living room this morning and thinking it didn't look very attractive, I must make a cover for it, I'm meeting my sons girlfriend for the first time tomorrow and I'm looking at my space with her maybe critical eyes and thinking I must do some housework (you know me and housework)trouble is I can't do that and cover the box not enough time, so I'm hiding the box for now but seeing yours I will make one to put on display just in case she decides to put in an appearance at a later date haha, have a great weekend and don't forget to link up all your lovely makes :)

    1. I love that story. I am sure this gal will not notice anything but your love and warmth, but I do know what you mean, it's just simply nice to have things in order for our own peace of mind when someone comes to visit for the first time....After that I figure they saw it nice once, so now I don't have to do it anymore. haha.

I will keep watching for your covers one day.

Thanks for providing the link part; it's been fun to link to and see what everyone else is up to ...all in one place. :-)

  9. The NVO's crochet cover looks much cleaner and more manly (somehow) than the blue roses.... nice work! (On both.)

This post reminds me that I never finished a tissue box cover I started almost 2 years ago. Oh the shame of it. :)

  10. Just this morning I decided that I needed a tissue box cover for my guest bathroom. I have made some crocheted and plastic canvas ones in the past. Think I just found the pattern to use this time. So glad you posted this and the link.

  13. They are just lovely! And really brighten up the area. Our night stands aren't nearly as tidy and couldn't hold even one more thing. The tissue box is on my side of the bed. :) Best wishes, Tammy
