Introducing the new banner:

I am so excited I can hardly stand it.

(Insert happy, happy, happy dance!)

I have been wanting to update my banner for a very long time,

but I didn't even know where to start...

...then along came Stephanie.

Sometimes in life you just serendipitously run into people that are extraordinary.

 Such is the case with this charming young illustrator.

Stephanie's wonderful mother and I are colleagues and we have connected in so many interesting ways. 

We met just a few years ago, but came to find out that our lives had crossed paths 

in the most unusual ways throughout our lives. Too many to list;

 but one that I find particularly interesting is that we discovered 

we attended the same grammar school and had the same kindergarten teacher; 

one of us attended in the morning and the other in the afternoon.

That was in 1966!
Connections continued to repeat but we didn't actually "meet" until a few years ago.

So naturally I would connect with Stephanie, as well.

She is an amazing multi-talented artist and I am so fortunate to know her. 

Stephanie designed the banner and captured every element that I requested.
I mentioned I would like her to include the USA and Norwegian flag, yarn,
knitting needles and a crochet hook.
I also requested apple blossoms, of course.
A stabbur and a vimpel, were on the list, too,
which are well-known by Norwegians,
 but probably not many others.
She did not question what these things were,
she just simply researched and incorporated everything that I asked.
She came up with the birdhouse concept and I absolutely love it.
Oh, I admire this creative talent.

And all of this via email.
We did not chat about the banner once.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Stephanie.
(Oh and BTW the heart on the front door of the stabbur was her mom's idea -
she knows me well.)
