"The Autumn CAL is still in the works"
Remember that CAL I promised you for this autumn?
It was on this post.
I believe the promise was made last summer.
And the rules were:
Low or no-cost
Stash-busting
Limited ends to weave
Very little counting
Thick and warm for winter
Exceptionally easy
Colorful
Well, being the rule follower that I am, all these rules have been followed
and it's almost done!!!
In addition to being a rule follower, I am making every effort to be a promise keeper,
so I am in hopes to get this CAL started next week - it's still autumn, right?
...maybe Tuesday.
The key word here, for a nervous/non-committal promise keeper seeker, is "maybe".
In the interim, here's another hint:
(Keeping in mind that blocking has not entered the picture, yet.)
This was the first hint:
And here's the last hint for today:
So sharpen up your Tunisian crochet skills,
gather up your stash, and get ready to play along!!!
P.S. My apologies, I just barely learned today that the seasons are not capitalized unless
they are part of a proper name. I have been repeatedly breaking this rule,
this is very uncomfortable news for a rule follower, such as myself. ;-)

(In hopes that, my friend Sue, will be most interested and delighted with this P.S.)
Oooo I have been wanting to make a Tunisian scarf for my BIL for christmas!
ReplyDeleteOh good, Becci. So happy you are interested. The nice thing about this project is that it is just about the most manly crochet I can find. This is s project for my man, the NVO. :-) More to come!
DeleteWell this looks like a fun project....
ReplyDeleteA most interesting rule about Autumn and the other Seasons. But doesn't a post title qualify as a Proper Name? (How boring our titles would look if only the very first letters were capitalized.) Back in the 1700s, they capitalized just about Everything. All in all, I think that capital letters, when judiciously used, add a bit of Spice and Interest. A sort of Pooh effect:
“When you see someone putting on his Big Boots, you can be pretty sure that an Adventure is going to happen.” A.A. Milne
And when you see Astri capitalizing Autumn CAL, you can be pretty sure that Crochet is going to happen. :)
LOL - I Love Poohisms!
DeleteSo it'll be Tunisian crochet? I've never tried that though I can both knit and crochet, do you think I'd be able to join in? I'd better go and try and find a Tunisian crochet hook/pole/needle whatever it's called! Do they come in different sizes?
ReplyDeleteSo I just went to look at the Tunisian crochet hooks on ebay and I'm more confused! Does the length matter? 25cm, 30cm?? Some looked like circular knitting needles, some were double ended, some were like a long crochet hook?? which one do I need?!? thank you!
ReplyDeleteHi Wendy - I have emailed you more details. :-)
DeleteA big welcome to you! You will just need a regular crochet hook for this project. I used an "H". I promise it will be super easy. Easier than knitting or traditional crochet IMHO.
I'm hooked and intrigued Astri and I await further revelations with bated breath haha :)
ReplyDeleteHei. Klem.
ReplyDeleteI just sent out superintendent's notes the other day and capitalized "Fall" -- guess I shouldn't have. Oh well! I tried the Tunisian stitch one time and then realized I needed a special hook. No wonder it didn't work out. :) Have a great day. Tammy
ReplyDeletegreat !
