Hippie Baby Skirt with Granny Roses

The Granny Rose Mania Continues
A skirt for a new granddaughter expected in May. :-)
*Modified from the adorable "Hippy Baby Dress" pattern that was purchased from
the Wild About Color blog.
Visiting this blog from "down on the bayou" will certainly put a smile on your face;
it's full of warmth, love and crochet!!!

This will fit the little one when she is about 9-12 months.

Crocheted with "Ella Rae Classic" wool and "Stitch Nation - Washable Ewe".
*Granny squares to include the roses were added and turned into a skirt by
 eliminating the straps and adding a slightly decreasing waistband.

Now we are headed out for a nine hour car ride to "Rosemaling Camp";
a great opportunity to work on a newborn dress.

Small stuff crochets up fast!
Small stuff grows up fast!

Once again...
BABIES....
A REASON TO CROCHET!!!

    1. Your little ones will be so cute in their dresses! Thanks again for the time, love and energy you put into writing this pattern. I love it! Have had five requests at work to make for co-workers children/grandchildren. It's becoming all the rage!

    1. Hi Domy - yes I feminize everything I can get my hands on. Much sympathy to the men in my life. ;-)

  5. Of course I love this! The colors and the neat stitches...it sings to me! I have a grand niece...this would be so cute to make for her. I think we are kindred spirits (like Anne of Green Glades would tell her BFF). Thanks for linking me up for the Granny Rose C.A.L.!!!! That was so sweet of you.

  7. Congratulations! Is this your first grandbaby? What a lucky little girl - I'm sure this is only the first of many beautiful hand-made outfits from her talented grandma. (It feels very strange to call you that.)

  8. How sweet this will be for your coming little grandgirl. Congratulations! We had our first (boy) last summer, there are no words to express. I loved your last words on your post ... babies, a reason to crochet. I'm looking for comments, etc., on why we all crochet. This fits perfectly. Can't wait to see all the wonderful thing you make for this little one.

  10. I truly believe that babies are a reason to crochet. For many years I worked for a Pediatric doctor and would always see little babies come in with their "very young mothers" and they would not have any socks or even a little blanket wrapped around them in the cool months, so that is when I start making a lot of blankets, socks, pj, and would keep a couple in my car to give away if needed... I never stopped and it's been about 10years now..Thankyou for believing also! Babies are a Reason
