Oh my goodness! These are so much fun to crochet! Thanks so much for sharing the pattern. I've already finished 24 of them. I'm having too much fun to stop now; I'm going for an afghan. How many roses do you think I'll need for an afghan? Thanks again : )

DeleteI absolutely love these roses! My 14 year old daughter has caught the bug as well. She's joining in on the CAL to do a petite granny rose pillow. She's also crocheted a rose and attached it to a hair comb to wear with her bun to ballet. It looks lovely! I'm up to 96 roses now and I don't think my house will ever get cleaned! Thanks again for sharing this pattern. It's the best flower pattern I've encountered by far!

I can't believe I did it....140 flowers done! My daughter is finishing up her 8th one right now, so we're both ready and eager for the next round of the C.A.L. tomorrow!

haha Carole - I was a child when my family immigrated to the US so I lost the accent. Wish I had one though - I think the NVO really wishes I had an accent, for sure!

I love the rose hearts - so lush and flowery. I see you use the twisty alternative to a slip knot - I just learned that this week and am loving it. So nice and flat. Great to hear your voice!

ReplyDeleteI have been crocheting roses for 4 yrs(the 1st thing I learned to do)and I have been on a quest for the perfect rose since then;yours gave me a thrill,after discovering this new technique,it is sooo pretty!
I'm still searching though,because I saw a Japanese technique,on a Russian site,and there was no pattern,no link. Needless to say,I am quite distraught over this,as it has lead to a re-newed obcession,that I thought I'd already come to terms with!!! I do LOVE your rose,so please understand that I am so happy with it,and am going to proceed to a blanket asap. I would love to give you the website,but I don't know how to get a russian keyboard to get it to you. Unfortunately,I am so lame in my it skills,that I still don't know how to copy and paste either,so,if you would like the info,I can try to get it for you,so you can see how amazing and lifelike these roses are,and all the projects made with them.
In any event,I am so happy I found you,and look forward to many happy hours of crochet alongs with you.

ReplyDeleteI'm coming to this way late, I know. Broke wrist and cannot crochet - so spending time looking at all the beautiful things I cant do and just waiting for the day I CAN pick up my hooks again...and wondering where I can find the pattern for this Granny Rose?
ReplyDeleteeven typing with left hand is SO slow....is this pattern available? It's gorgeous! and I really would like to do some some of these when I can crochet again. I'm so frustrated - normally when I am incapacitated because of serious back injury, my crochet is my therapy and helps so much. i can't wait til i can crochet again.
