Vintage Ripple Ta Da!

COLOR!
The pattern is from Churchmouse Yarns and Teas:
Extra rows of white were added to each end to create a lace-like look.

Homes in Norway inspired the colors:

Embellished with crocheted flowers:
Some temporary pinned-on flowers from Lesley Stanfield's book:
"100 Flowers to Knit and Crochet"
#50 Meconopsis
and
#49 Forget-me-not

And here it is with the rose granny square pillow that will be the item for the

  3. ¡Que la manta es bonita! Los colores, las flores, los puntos - ¡perfección!

P.S. Now you just need a comment in Klingon - I will leave that to Lolly since she's a Trekkie. :)

P.P.S. It really is gorgeous. And I love the picture of the Norwegian houses. Are they fishermen's homes? They look so tidy and somehow nautical.

  6. Thank you all!

I think they are just regular homes, but I don't recall the homes in Norway being quite that bright, there may have been some adjustments to this photo - they are pretty close though. :-)

The yarn is just your basic Red Heart Super Saver. It's an acrylic worsted. It's inexpensive and hardy and the colors stay even after washing and sun exposure. I dream of using 100% wool one day...

Lolly...Klingon? - I hope so! Pig-Latin would be nice too.

  15. What a great blanket! I already had a pattern book with the same V-stitch/wave design and shorted it to get the same look from a '98 Vanna's Favorite Gifts book by Leisure Arts. Here's mine: http://www.flickr.com/photos/wildaboutcolor/6892326243/in/photostream/
