Vintage Ripple WIP

A Springtime WIP with a projected completion date of...
 the Spring!  :-)
I purchased this pattern at Churchmouse Yarns & Teas.
Click here for the link; it's called the "Vintage Crocheted Throw & Afghan"
Lots of ends to weave.
A pile of similarly colored, yet different stitches of afghans,
brings joy to my heart like...
no other pile of anything. he, he ;-)

Wishing you a joyous heart!

  2. Ha-ha! Yes, there are very few piles that are as inviting as your crocheted afghans. That pattern is very unusual. I haven't tried a regular ripple, much less a vintage one. :) Thanks for dropping by and all your lovely comments. Happy day to you, Tammy

  3. Wow, Astri! Do you know how long I've been looking for this pattern? Thanks for the link!! Your start looks awesome with the colors you've picked - I've pinned a picture to Pinterest, you'll be having a whole lotta traffic now, I guess :)

    Have a great week,
    Barbara

  5. So pretty! My afghans and blankets don't seem to color-coordinate. That could be because I like to try all different colors. One of these days... I should plan a series of projects all the same colors. Maybe for the first grandchild, but then again my son's only 16. (Knock on wood -- don't want to jinx anything.) LOL.

  7. So lacy and pretty. I've never crocheted an afghan yet - I lack the persistence to finish such a big job. Plus we're rather addicted to fleece. If I could afford enough 100% wool yarn, though....

Spring. Only 2 months away! Yippee!

  11. Oh my goodness, what an outpouring of wonderful comments. Thank you all so much. Oh yes I would love 100% wool, but that will have to be in my retirement when I own a yarn shop, haha!

Thank you for the pinterest pins, as well. Makes me so happy!

  14. I've been wanting to buy this pattern - can you tell me if it would be difficult for a beginning crocheter? Your color combo is pretty - glad I found your blog thru Pinterest!

  15. Thank you all. Yes, the pattern is relatively easy. Once you finish the foundation row the rest is pretty easy. After about three rows the pattern will likely be memorized and you can see what to do next. Good luck and let me if you make it. :-)

  17. I wish this pattern had a diagram. For $5 it should have more than the little info that it comes with:/. I was looking around for some help with it & came across your lovely pics. Looks like you had no trouble! I wish I could find a diagram!

  18. Is this not the blanket pattern and not the ripple one? I think the stiches look more like the blanket pattern. My grand daughter wants one and saw it on pinterest. Please respond to me

  19. I saw your beautiful afghan so I also purchased the pattern I love this pattern. What brand of yarn did you use and also what were the color names? I just love the color choices.

    1. It's all red heart worsted yarn. I think the color names are: white, cornmeal, light blue, periwinkle and red. The green is by Sincerely and it did not have a name. I hope that helps!
