Walking and Crocheting

Crocheting as a Reward for Walking?
or
Walking as a Reward for Crocheting?

Above all, do not lose your desire to walk. Every day I walk
myself into a state of well-being and walk away from every illness.
I have walked myself into my best thoughts, and I know of no thought so burdensome that one cannot walk away from it.
~Soren Kierkegaard
(Could the word "walk" here also be replaced with the word "crochet"?)

I stumbled across the above quote from "T's Daily Treasures" blog. A lovely lady in Kuwait with a lovely blog. Click here for the referenced post. Such good timing as I have committed to walk or ride the bike for at least 45 minutes each day before allowing myself the luxury of just sitting and crocheting...my favorite pastime.  Additionally, Kierkegaard has quickly become one of my favorite philosophers via an introduction by the NVO.

I am proud to announce that I walked for 65 minutes today (uphill for most of it, I might add
 and at a very slow pace, I might also add); hence, I can now crochet.
I also came to the realization that walking may become a reward for crocheting;
it was so nice.

But for today, for being such an excellent rule follower...
(Yeah, I know, the rules are self inflicted, it's quite silly.  :-)  )
...the "Fit Blanket" continues...
...awwwwww...a much anticipated reward.

  1. Hi Astri, thanks for stopping by my corner of the world. How wonderful to know that you were inspired by my post and the quote. Walking is my favorite form of exercise. I could never sweat it out in a gym. Unfortunately, around here, we are waiting for cooler weather so we can actually start walking again.

    I love all your crochet. The dishcloths for your daughter are great. And love the painted rug on the porch. Great idea to brighten up that area. Hope you are having a great day. :) Tammy
