Summer Granny Square Patio Cushion

The "Garden Deck Patio" was in need of some color

This is the "After" shot
...and...
This is the "Before" shot
(this po' ole cushion was formerly bright red, then faded by the sun.  Now it's been brightened up with mostly Red Heart Acrylic Yarn that could possibly withstand the sun's rays.)
...and...
The back side has a coordinating "after" for those days that one may be in a gingham kind of mood.
...and...
This is how you do it:

1) Visit the lovely Miss Lucy at Attic 24 .
2) Her post for this pattern (Summer Garden Granny Square) complete with a very easy to follow tutorial can be found here.

3) Add an extra row of hdc all the way around: 2 hdc 2 ch and 2 hdc in the corners of this last row.
4) Join squares with sc.
5) The gingham back side is one great big Summer Garden Granny Square.
6) Join the front and back with sc. Measure the middle of each side and start crocheting to the corner until there is "flap" remaining on each corner. Sew this flap down.
7) An extra added touch idea: Make a flower to put on each flap...ohhhhhhh soooooo cute.

Flower flap cover and the other three chair cushions to come...
(Oh and maybe some matching bunting to go around the umbrella.)

Happy Summer Garden Sitting!!!
