SFG Boxes
SFG (Square Foot Gardening) aka Container Gardening is the most simple and least time consuming gardening we have ever tried. Seriously, if it wasn't we would not be doing it.
Each box is divided into 12" x 12" squares, with each square producing more than you could possibly imagine.
I believe we have only pulled three tiny weeds in the last three years and that is:

ReplyDeleteI 've been wanting to do some SFG for about a year and a half, but I haven't gotten around to it because I know I am going to have to figure out where to put these sweet boxes in my small backyard.
But I love how you zig-zagged the boxes. This will work for me too as I have two corridors on either side of my house. Plus a few spots in the postage size official yard too.
In other words, you've inspired me......: )
You are welcome Lolly. Can't wait to see what you do. We have a tiny home and a pretty small yard and we love the small space. It's fun to figure out all kinds of space saving tricks and the SFG has been the most fun of all. Told my real-estate selling girlfriend once that we would like to downsize and she said "can't downsize any further" haha - it's more than enough for us. ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh and BTW - I wanted grass and the NVO wanted rocks....I am so glad that we went with the rocks. I do not know what I was thinking. The rocks have been wonderful! No weeds, no mowing, no watering.
