God dag! Velkommen til "Apple Blossom Dreams."
I am a happily married Norsk transplant living, loving, and dreaming with my "Norsk Via Osmosis" hubby; hereinafter, referred to as the NVO, in Norway, Utah, and Wyoming. We have seven (Ja, I know-Uff da!) wonderful children and 15 grandchildren scattered across the country. Our lives are happy, fun, and simple.
This blog is a look into the dreams we have created and hope to create. A little bit of this and a little bit of that, but primarily about yarn, and crocheting, my favorite hobby.
This blog is a look into the dreams we have created and hope to create. A little bit of this and a little bit of that, but primarily about yarn, and crocheting, my favorite hobby.
In 1968 as an eight-year-old in the Oslo airport, waiting for a flight back to the US, my Tante (Aunt) taught me to crochet to keep me entertained. I was hooked! My parents had immigrated from Norway to the US just a few years earlier. I was in for a long flight and little did I know that the future held a lot of long flights full of many "time flying" hours. To this day, crocheting gets me through those...I am so grateful.
These days I primarily design and write crochet patterns, and occasionally sell some crocheted items. Many of my patterns involve flowers - another passion. I love creating and playing with color, so much that the color wheel is my favorite creating tool.
My mission is to help the beginner create something that they never thought they could make with a variety of budget options. I incorporate all the different learning styles, knowing that we all learn differently and at our own pace. Most of the Apple Blossom Dreams patterns include 100's of photos with step-by-step instructions, videos, and even an abbreviated version for the more experienced crocheter. It's truly so much fun! How could I be so lucky?
Thank you for your interest and wishing you many fun and happy-filled crocheting moments!

DeleteMy patterns can be found on Etsy. https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheYarnStabbur?ref=hdr_shop_menu
Or click in the right side bar under "TheYarnStabbur".
I have bought the pattern from your etsy site. I saw on one of your posts that you men mein making it fluffier by adding a DC before and after the middle chain. I don't understand what you mean.
ReplyDeleteHi, I recently purchased your pattern for the granny rose afghan. I am having a little problem with making the rose. I tried to see instructions on you tube but could not find the correct rose. Can you please help. My email is pmetz8rn@gmail.com Thank you Peggy Metz

ReplyDeleteHi, I purchased your Macaroon Blossom Afghan Pattern a while ago, I have just got to the point of joining them together. I am left handed so I am wondering whether I need to go clockwise around the four circles rather than anti-clockwise as per your video?
ReplyDeleteHello! I hope you received this reply since your reply came in as Anonymous I could not reply to you directly. I think that you would probably go the opposite direction but I'm so sorry I'm not familiar with left-handed crocheting. But I would try the one and if that doesn't work try the other direction. I hope that helps and thank you so much for purchasing my pattern!
DeleteI am almost finished with the gorgeous Macaroon Blossom Afghan. So fun and beautiful but I'm stuck. I'm starting the border and the directions are confusing me. Do I single crochet in each chain then every third stitch, 2 sc in the next st? 3 single crochets , 2 sc in next chain, 3 single crochets?...
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry I was unable to respond to your comment last month as it came in as Anonymous. I hope that the next comment answers your question.
DeleteThank you so much for your patronage and for reaching out for clarification.
I looked this up myself and decided to do SC in 3 stitches the 2SC in the next stitch, repeat all the way around except where you join the flowers together.
ReplyDeleteHello and thank you for the comment. I assume you are referring to the border of the Macaroon Blossom Afghan. I apologize for the confusion. I can see that error now. You are absolutely right, it's SC in the next 3 sts and 2 SC in the next st. I have revised the pattern and it is currently out for testing. I really appreciate your help!
